Sudden Valley Amenities
Lake WhatcomThe lake is the 5th largest in Washington and contains 55 miles of shoreline. Sudden Valley has 2 miles of lovely beach frontage along the shores of Lake Whatcom. Lake Louise This is a Nature Private Wildlife Reserve that is located with in the valley. Paddle boats and canoes are available to rent, and you can swim, but there is no life guard on duty. The lake is annually stocked with trout which makes for great fishing. Parks & Trails There are many parks and trails located within Sudden Valley, some of which are Afternoon Beach, Morning Beach, North Point Beach, Sonfield Park and Beaver Ridge Trail. Adult Center The adult cetner has a minimum age requirment of 21. The center houses an outdoor pool, workout room, sauna, aerobic room and host a variety of activities. The center is open 6:00am to 11:00pm daily. Main Pool This is an Olympic sized heated outdoor swimming pool and is open during the summer months only. For swim team and swimming lessons information give the recreation department a call. Recreation Center The recreation center is located in Gate 2 and is geared toward children ages 7-17. It is a perfect venue for a birthday party or parties of all sorts. The recreation facility includes a miniature golf course, pool, ping-pong, video games, and a variety of games and activities organized by the recreation staff Sports Arena The sports arena is located in gate 2 and is open for Floor Hockey and Basketball. The Arena is open Monday-Friday 12-7pm. Boat Launch The valley has it's own boat launch open to it's residents. It is a great place to launch a boat and enjoy a day of water skiing or cruising out on the lake. |
